Alde Valley Ramblers and Alde Valley Footpath Working Party

PLEASE NOTE OUR PROGRAMME OF WALKS IS NOW RUNNING AGAIN AFTER THE LATEST COVID LOCKDOWN

Groups of The Ramblers active in the Suffolk Coastal District.

We provide regular led walks in the beautiful Suffolk Coastal area and help to maintain and preserve the paths that make up its rights of way network through our Footpath Working Party Group.

Alde Valley Ramblers is a very friendly and sociable group of the Ramblers' based in the part of Suffolk Coastal District lying between the Rivers Blyth and Deben. Click here for a list of the parishes in our territory.

Membership stands at about 140 which makes us rather small as groups go. We are also a fairly new group having been formed as recently as 1995.

Our volunteers make representations about issues concerning the rights of way network, Open Access Land and the beauty of the countryside generally.

Our led walks are fortnightly on a Sunday plus occasional mid-week walks.  We are planning to increase this number.  The walks vary in length from around 3 to 12 miles and in terms of ease are generally classified as being leisurely. For the longer walks, a shorter version is sometimes offered.  Non-members are very welcome to join a few of our walks on a trial basis. There is normally no charge for joining a walk.  Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed.

The Ramblers is Britain's walking charity, working to safeguard the footpaths, the countryside and other places we go walking, and to encourage more people to take up walking. To see a more detailed account of our work and more about the Ramblers nationally see
